Aesthetic Intelligence...a leadership capacity

| posted by Rochelle Mucha

From Rochelle....While working with the world of performing arts, I have come to identify a capacity, Aesthetic Intelligence, which I believe is the underpinning of the culture of the arts. Aesthetic in this context refers to the full use of all of our senses, including the undeniable, 6th sense. The fundamental elements of Aesthetic Intelligence are presence ( in the moment, available, accessible), authenticity (drawing on oneself to assume the role one needs to respond to the person, situation and topic at that time) ,and synthesis (absorbing and assimilating what is happening (intrinsic/extrinsic) and responding in the moment.   This is a brief explanation, but I am curious....What do you think? How does this play out in what you know and what you experience with leadership?

I am going to respond to my own blog question,by sharing a quote. Last week Warren Buffett reclaimed his position as the richest person in the world. Here is a quote from Buffett..." I am not a businessperson, I am an artist". In light of his comment and Aesthetic Intelligence, how is a leader a business artist?
