This metric does not mean much out of the context of the study. I will make a point of reading it! However, in terms of its role in influencing change, aspirational influence, per capita energy intensity and its economic power, the US has got to rank last and must aspire to rank first in sustainability leadership. Future generations will judge us (all world citizens) harshly for the (perhaps irreversible) legacy of environmental decline we are leaving them.

OK, we all know that US environmental IQ is abismally low, and is getting Bushed even lower. But the posting is in relative terms. Where do we stand in terms of real metrics?
