The Finally Frontier

Scotland is launching its first home-built satellite this month to "show [its] capabilities" as a tech power. With thousands of satellites already orbiting Earth, we wondered:

If Scotland wants to display its technology, why launch a satellite?

"[Scotland has] been involved in things, but this [satellite] is really theirs. It's going to do an experiment—measure space weather—but it's also something the public and students can get excited about."
