Samsung Fakes Bad Online Reviews Of HTC, Gets Fined $340,000

Two local firms were fined a total of just over $100,000 for their part in the affair.

Samsung has had its knuckles rapped by the Fair Trade Commission in Taiwan--to the tune of $340,000--for paying local marketing firms to write bad reviews of HTC products. Two local firms were fined a total of just over $100,000 for their part in the affair.

Three years ago, a former prosecutor in South Korea claimed the firm was guilty of bribery, money laundering, evidence tampering, and corruption.
