Where The Wild Doodlers Are: Google Celebrates Maurice Sendak's Birthday

Google honors what would have been Maurice Sendak's 85th birthday with a special Where The Wild Things Are doodle.

Google's home page is adorned with one of its graphical doodles in honor of what would have been children's author Maurice Sendak's 85th birthday. The animated short clip is one of the more complex doodles yet. It is based on the illustrations for Sendak's famous book Where The Wild Things Are, along with story elements from In The Night Kitchen and Bumble-Ardy.

To read more about the amazing, controversial Sendak, read our piece on his creative legacy published just after his death in May 2012.
