Twitter gets an estimated 83 million pageviews everyday. Harnessing the power of Twitter requires your firm to first attract followers and then get those followers to visit your website.
The best way to do that is by posting relevant blog entries, then using a free service like LawURL.com. Twitter limits your “tweets” to 140 characters. However, a blog entry’s URL can be very long and force you to say less in your Tweet.
For example, our April 10th blog entry on law firm marketing at SEOLawFirm.com, entitled “Mega Firms and Suburban Lawyers Get New Legal Marketing Options,” has a URL of http://www.seolawfirm.com/2010/04/mega-firms-and-suburban-lawyers-get-new-legal-marketing-options/.
In order to post this link on Twitter, we go to http://lawurl.com/, paste the long URL into the top field, and then click “shorten.” A new shorter URL of http://lawurl.com/1l is generated, thus making the link Twitter friendly.
LawURL.com is a free service for lawyers. Learn more at http://lawurl.com.
