A newly published Automotive News report ranked West Herr Automotive Group in Buffalo the 22nd largest dealer group in the US out of a possible 125.  The ranking is based on 2009 new-vehicle retail units sold. West Herr reported selling 14,555 new retail cars and trucks last year.

West Herr is the 16th largest privately held auto group and has been serving the Buffalo area since 1950 when the dealership was founded by Joseph Herr and Harold West.  What started as a single Ford dealership in Hamburg grew into one of the most successful automotive chains in the US.  Currently West Herr represents 18 New Vehicle Brands and has a comprehensive inventory of used and certified pre-owned vehicles.

Despite reports of slumping auto sales around the country, West Herr reported an impressive year in 2009.  The dealer group sold a total of 39,420 new retail, used, fleet and wholesale units and reported revenues of about $732 million from all of its departments, according to Automotive News.
