18 law enforcement agencies across the state of Missouri join together in a push to combat aggressive driving.

It looks like the people of Kansas City and its surrounding areas of had enough, enough of reckless and out-of-control drivers that is.  In an unprecedented move, 18 law enforcement agencies across our great state of Missouri are joining together in an effort to deter these detrimental behaviors.

According to a report issued by the Kansas City Regional Transportation Safety Blueprint, aggressive driving behaviors contributed to 38% of fatalities and over 1/3 of the total injuries resulting from traffic crashes in this region.

These aggressive driving behaviors are being defined as, but not limited to:

•    excessive speeding
•    driving too fast for conditions
•    tailgating (following other vehicles too closely)
•    frequent or unsafe lane changes
•    failure to signal
•    failure to yield the right-of-way
•    disregarding traffic controls

Coming from this Kansas City Personal Injury Attorney, these dangerous behaviors should be discouraged all year round, but this particular initiative is being conducted from April 25 through May 8.   So prepare to see an increase in tickets issued during this stretch as a strong deterrent to this extremely aggressive behavior.

I would like to give my thanks to all the agencies partnering in this effort: Blue Springs Police Department, Gladstone Police Department, Grandview Police Department; Independence Police Department; Jackson County Sheriff's Office; Johnson County, Kan., Sheriff's Office; Kansas City, Mo., Police Department; Kansas Highway Patrol; Leawood Police Department; Lee's Summit Police Department; Lenexa Police Department; Lone Jack Police Department; Missouri State Highway Patrol; Olathe Police Department; Overland Park Police Department; Parkville Police Department; Raytown Police Department; and the Shawnee Police Department.

And if you or your loved ones happen to be the victim of a reckless, out-of-control driver, please contact a Kansas City Personal Injury Attorney.
