In comics, Daniel Clowes' graphic novel Like a Velvet Glove Cast in Iron
had an official soundtrack album. The original black-and-white Nexus #3
from Capitol comics included the "Flexi-Nexi" which was a soundtrack
flexi-disc for the issue. Trosper by Jim Woodring included a soundtrack
album composed and performed by Bill Frisell, and the Absolute Edition
of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: Black Dossier is planned to
include an original vinyl record.
The 1960s saw advertising transform into a modern approach in which
creativity was allowed to shine, producing unexpected messages that made
advertisements more tempting to consumers' eyes. The Volkswagen ad
campaign—featuring such headlines as "Think Small" and "Lemon" (which
were used to describe the appearance of the car)—ushered in the era of
modern advertising by promoting a "position" or "unique selling
proposition" designed to associate each brand with a specific idea in
the reader or viewer's mind. This period of American advertising is
called the Creative Revolution and its archetype was William Bernbach
who helped create the revolutionary Volkswagen ads among others. Some of
the most creative and long-standing American advertising dates to this
period.

Films are cultural artifacts created by specific cultures, which reflect
those cultures, and, in turn, affect them. Film is considered to be an
important art form, a source of popular entertainment and a powerful
method for educating — or indoctrinating — citizens. The visual elements
of cinema give motion pictures a universal power of communication. Some
films have become popular worldwide attractions by using dubbing or
subtitles that translate the dialogue.
In the U.S.A., the television advertising is usually conceived the most
efficient mass-market advert format, and this is contemplated by the
high prices TV nets accuse for commercial airtime during plain TV cases.
The yearly Super Bowl American football game is known as practically
for its commercial advertisements as for the back itself, and the mean
price of a separate 30-second television spot on this back (ascertained
by ninety million viewers) has achieved US$2.7 million (as of February
2008).
Advertising is equated with constitutionally guaranteed freedom of
opinion and speech. Therefore criticizing advertising or any attempt to
restrict or ban advertising is almost always considered to be an attack
on fundamental rights (First Amendment in the US) and meets the combined
and concentrated resistance of the business and especially the
advertising community. “Currently or in the near future, any number of
cases are and will be working their way through the court system that
would seek to prohibit any government regulation of ... commercial
speech (e.g. advertising or food labelling) on the grounds that such
regulation would violate citizens’ and corporations’ First Amendment
rights to free speech or free press.”An example for this debate is
advertising for tobacco or alcohol but also advertising by mail or
fliers (clogged mail boxes), advertising on the phone, in the internet
and advertising for children.

Most people use "film" and "movie" interchangeably. "Film" is more often
used when considering artistic, theoretical, or technical aspects, as
studies in a university class. "Movies" more often refers to
entertainment or commercial aspects, as where to go for fun on a date.
For example, a book titled "How to Read a Film" would be about the
aesthetics or theory of film, while "Lets Go to the Movies" would be
about the history of entertaining movies.
