For all your AC
maintenance, repair, and installations, you can call on Cousins Air.
They are TRANE comfort specialists and have been in the business for
over 15 years providing timely, reliable, and professional service to
the Broward and Palm Beach areas.
However, before you call for service here are a few tips:
1-Verify that the thermostat is set at “Heat” or “Cool”, not “Off.”
Make sure the temperature is set lower than the actual room temperature
when in cooling mode and above room temperature when in heating mode.
2-If you have a humidistat, set I to the “On” position.
3-Check all electrical disconnects and circuit
breakers

-There is a disconnect near or on the air handler (inside the house,
garage, or attic.) If the disconnect is accessible, be sure it is
turned on.
-There is a disconnect near the condenser 9outside the house.) This
disconnect may be a switch, lever, or “pullout.” Make sure this is in
the “On” position. If the condenser still does not turn on, check the
fuses at the disconnect. Try changing the fuses. ALWAYS COMPLETELY
SHUT OFF THE POWER TO THE DISCONNECT AT THE MAIN ELECTRICAL PANEL BEFORE
PULLING OUT OR INSERTING FUSES.
-Check the main electrical circuit breaker panel to determine if the
breakers for the air conditioner are on. Turn the ac breakers off then
back on.
4-Check your air filter. Filters should be replaced or cleaned every
month. A dirty filter causes most minor air conditioning problems.
Never operate your system without a filter.
5-Electric heaters cause a slight burning smell when first turned on,
especially when they have not been used for a while. This smell is
caused by accumulated dust particles burning on the elements. This
smell should not last more than 30 minutes.
6-Electric heaters cannot heat your home instantly. When a cold
front is forecasted, please set your thermostat to “Heat” as soon as
possible.
