Paul Moak Subaru, a MS Subaru dealer  , announces Subaru’s first place finish in the Consumer Reports automotive brand ranking for 2010.  The 2010 auto issue of Consumer Reports will hit newsstands March 2nd.

The 2010 Subaru Forester is also named in the Consumer Reports auto issue as one of the magazine’s “top picks” for 2010.  The editorial staff of Consumer Reports state, “top picks are chosen from among more than 280 vehicles evaluated by Consumer Reports.  They must perform well in road tests, have average or better predicted reliability and perform adequately in safety tests.  They must offer electronic stability control as standard equipment or as a readily available option.”

Paul Moak Subaru has a great selection of Forester inventory available at its dealership in downtown Jackson.  The Subaru Forester 2.5X is available at for a sale price of $21,987 (plus tax).  The Forester was redesigned in 2009 and won the 2009 Motor Trend SUV of the Year award for its overall performance.  The Forester is one of the most popular small SUVs in America and has been gaining in popularity across the state of Mississippi.  The Forester offers spacious interior for passengers, pets, and cargo, AWD performance, and a sporty style for active lifestyles.

The Forester is also a “Top Pick” from the 2010 Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS) “Top Pick” rating for safety. This highest IIHS ranking recognizes the vehicles that do the very best job of protecting people in front, side, rear and rollover crashes. The awarded vehicles also must be equipped with electronic stability control.  Subaru was the only nameplate with a Top Pick winner in all four of its vehicle classes.

Subaru, which has won numerous awards and honors over the past year, continues to gain in sales volume and market share year over year.  In fact, Subaru is the only automotive brand to post year-over-year sales growth in 2008 and 2009.  While the Forester was named Motor Trend Magazine's Sport/Utility of the Year for 2009, the Outback received the same award for 2010, making Subaru the only brand to win the award two years in a row. Subaru is also the only brand to have all five of its model lines named 2010 Top Safety Picks by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, even in a year where the IIHS adopted stricter criteria for evaluation, including rollover safety. And the awards keep coming, as the Subaru 2.5L turbocharged DOHC H-4 engine, featured in the Legacy 2.5GT, was named one of Ward's Automotive 10 Best Engines for 2010. This newest award was presented on January 13, 2010 at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan.
