Masterpiece Investments donates sculptures to a large number of American
non-profit organizations, including such life-changing operations as
the Make a Wish Foundation. The Foundation has been improving the lives
of children with life-threatening medical conditions since 1980 with its
unique wish-granting services. The Make a Wish Foundation has reached
more than 174,000 children around the world in the past three decades
through its network of almost 25,000 volunteers. At the age of 7, Chris
Greicius was being treated for leukemia. Realizing it was Chris’ life
dream to become a police officer, United States Customs Officer Tommy
Austin worked with the Arizona Department of Public Safety to plan a day
in which Chris was given a tour of the city in a department helicopter
and made an honorary DPS patrolman. Ron Cox, a DPS officer, also had a
custom-tailored uniform made for Chris and organized a battery-operated
motorcycle test for him to earn his motorcycle wings. The realization of
Chris’ dream marked the beginning of the Make a Wish Foundation.
Some of the most recent wishes that have been granted are attending the
Super Bowl, meeting the Jonas Brothers, meeting Elmo, going to Hawaii,
meeting Jeff Gordon, going to the Smithsonian Institute, going on an
Alaskan cruise, and having a personal CD recording session. Anyone can
help these children realize their dreams as wish granters, fundraisers,
special events assistants, and other volunteers for the Make a Wish
Foundation. The Foundation appreciates any resources volunteers can
offer, whether it is financial assistance, time, or talent.
