2009 Kia Borrego V8 4WD
The theory is that despite the drastic rise in fuel costs, there
are still plenty of upper-middle-class suburbanites who want a
body-on-frame SUV to shuttle the family, haul supplies from the Home
Depot and pull the speedboat to the lake. And instead of buying the
biggest thing they can find, consumers will settle for a midsize SUV
that can do it all without guzzling quite so much gas. While we're not
sure we buy into this hypothesis, we must admit the 2009 Kia Borrego
has its merits, despite our uncertainty of how it will be received in
this jittery market.
The Kia Soul is a compact, mini MPV produced in South Korea
for the global market. It was designed at Kia's design center in
California, and unveiled at the 2008 Paris Motor Show. Production began
in late 2008, with the first vehicles appearing at European dealerships
in February 2009 and North American dealerships in March 2009, as a
2010 model. The Soul comes in over 10,000 combinations of engines,
colours, styling and accessories.

1992, Kia Motors America was incorporated in the United States. The
first Kia-branded vehicles in the United States were sold from four
dealerships in Portland, Oregon in February 1994. Since then, Kia
expanded methodically one region at a time. Dealers in 1994 sold the
Sephia, and a few years later the United States line expanded with the
addition of the Sportage.
2009 Kia Borrego V8 4WD: Performance
Perhaps one of the Borrego's most convincing attributes is its
towing capability. Our four-wheel-drive V8 model is rated at a
class-leading 7,500 pounds. And unlike some manufacturers who test
their models stripped down in order to get more appealing numbers with
less weight, we're told the Borrego's towing capacity already takes
into account at least a driver and passenger (although maybe not a full
passenger compartment).
Kia Motors America (KMA) is the American sales, marketing and
distribution arm of Kia Motors Corporation based in Seoul, South Korea.
KMA offers a complete line of vehicles through more than 640 dealers
throughout the United States. For 2008, KMA recorded its 14th
consecutive year of increased U.S. market share. In August 2009, Kia
was the 8th-best selling automotive brand in the United States,
outselling makes like Chrysler and Mazda.
