Striving to have everything perfect is a nice goal, however, waiting for
that perfect moment can hold you back. I’ve seen great
ideas from entrepreneurs get trumped by their competition because they
were taking too long trying to make everything perfect.

It is no
longer necessary to have everything completely per fect before getting
out there and introducing your products to the world. It's more
important to take action and start becoming visible now , even if
everything is not perfect.

I’ve noticed this trend of waiting for
perfection with some small business owners I've met over the years. The
problem with this strategy is:

The longer they waited, the
more chances they gave their competition to be found before them,
potentially stealing the thunder from something they thought was unique.
Right now someone else may be working on an idea similar to yours.
You've seen it happen, you come up with this great idea, and instead of
developing it and putting it out there you wait. What happens? someone
else came up with your idea and just ran with it.

The Internet
is constantly changing, far too quickly to even worry about finding
small imperfections that can easily and quickly be fixed once they are
discovered

Marketing, especially online, takes time to develop
and waiting for the perfect moment just lengthens the time before you
start seeing results.

I’m not trying to say that you shouldn't to
strive for excellence with your business idea. However, there's a big
difference between striving for excellence as a goal and simply waiting
for the perfect time or moment before you take action.

I
completely agree that you should:

* Review your Website for
any spelling errors or flaws that could hurt your business image
*
Check that all contact forms, landing pages and other components are
working
* Ensure that your Brand is well designed and consistent
throughout your web pages and promotional/marketing materials
*
Target the right audience using the right keywords/phrases within your
content

But waiting and trying to get everything just right, or
whatever that may be, whether it is your website, social networking
profiles, email marketing campaigns or your PPC advertising
- is costing you potential customers, visibility and time - not to
mention money.

Waiting for everything to be perfect could cost
you that THUNDER. Get everything to the point where no-one - but you -
knows that everything is not “done” and go live.

Do you know how
many retail store openings I've been to, or fashion events I've
attended where even though everything was not perfect, they still opened
up their doors because they knew waiting for everything to be perfect
could have cost them.

The longer you wait for that perfect
alignment, the more the world is passing you by - including your
competition.
