My father, Lorenzo Ghiglieri, is an accomplished artist who has
generously donated many of his works to charities with which my
business is involved. Born in Los Angeles, Ghiglieri studied artists
like Rembrandt, Velazquez, and Corot while growing up and received an
art scholarship at age 17. Even while fighting in the Korean War,
Ghiglieri was able to practice his art. He painted a combat
illustration that was presented to Great Britain by the United States
for Queen Elizabeth II's coronation.
Lorenzo Ghiglieri's paintings and sculptures have been presented to
Pope John Paul II at the Vatican, President Ronald Reagan, Mikhail
Gorbachev, and King Juan Carlos of the Royal Palace of Madrid. He has
also created works for celebrities like Tiger Woods, Luciano Pavarotti,
and General Schwarzkopf.
Lorenzo Ghiglieri created his second piece for the White House in 1994.
Known as the “Official American Bald Eagle,” the sculpture is made from
bronze, silver, and gold. Not confined to any one theme, Ghiglieri has
created a wide range of sculptures depicting scenes from wildlife to
historical figures and Biblical characters. Ghiglieri has also painted
wildlife in America and Africa, as well as nudes and romantically
themed images, and still life paintings and landscapes. He has been
creating inspirational works of art throughout his life and has helped
guide me to my calling as well.
