Denver Roofing: What Happened in 2009

The atmosphere of Denver roofing changed forever in 2009.

In August of 2009, several major storms whipped through the Denver area, destroying roofs, siding and generally causing tremendous damage. By some estimates, the total damage to the area was in the hundreds of millions.

One phenomena occurred that is quite common after catastrophic storms, the "storm chasers" seemed to decend on our area in droves.

In the course of two months, literally hundreds of roofing companies sprang up like so many spring flowers.

The problem is, these flowers stunk and stunk bad.

There were so many people who needed to have their roofs done (and many of them had never been through that experince) that they easily succombed to the high pressure sales tactics of these fly by night operations.

Even "reputable companies" hired crews that came out of nowhere, and now many of those roofing and construction companies have soiled their name forever.

I have been serving teh Denver area, building homes and installing roofs for almost three decades. I must say, it was so sad to see so many people taken advantage of. Companies came in, collected large checks from insurance companies, and now they are gone forever (or at least until the next big storm).

Many of the quick fix folks are gone, but Denver reputable Denver contractors are still here, still providing the quality of service and craftsmanship that our customers have come to expect.

The moral of the story is, if you your area gets hit by a major storm. Be patient. Watch and see who will be there for the long haul. You will be glad you did.
