Two mothers together meet for a wedding. Their evening gowns harmony is also a needed factor for the whole look of the wedding. How to match them?

Per general etiquette, the mother of the bride is to buy her wedding-day formal dress first, and then notify the mother of the groom in a friendly, non-threatening format. The phone call is meant to subtly clue in the mother of the groom dress to color, length, and overall formality. But if you don't get word by the 4-month mark, touch base with your daughter-in-law-to-be about what to do.

A big day for your daughter and son, while it is also a big day for both of you, so just keep in touch with the special occasion dresses you wear.
