Resilience
Pronunciation: \ri-ˈzil-yən(t)s\
Function: noun
Date: 1824

1 : the capability of a strained body to recover its size and shape after deformation caused especially by compressive stress

2 : an ability to recover from or adjust easily to misfortune or change (Merriam-Webster, 2010).

In order to learn from and adapt to change, we must become more
resilient. When positive or negative changes happen–and they always
do–there is only one certainty: The resilient survive and the maladaptive do not.

Today’s world teaches us that balance,
harmony, and stability are hard to come by (and temporary at best).
Therefore, becoming resilient in times of change can make all of the
difference personally and professionally.

Put plainly, resilient people:

1. recognize their place in relationships with others.
2. appreciate change as the seed of innovation.
3. respond continuously to feedback.
4. identify and learn to use their strengths.
5. invent solutions where others see problems.
6. adapt to their changing environment.
7. stretch without breaking.

Becoming resilient means stretching
your personal and professional boundaries. If you are interested in
